Technopark Technology Business Incubator is a government entity and is backed by  Government Of Kerala Technopark Department Of Science Technology (Govt Of India) DSIR MSME.

Located at Thiruvanathapuram, Technopark Technology Business Incubator receives around  300-600 applications every year. The program duration for each batch is 12-24 months.

Their Mission – Technopark Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI), Trivandrum functions with a vision to support and nurture the startups in the state of Kerala.Technopark TBI is designated as the nodal agency for establishing startup ecosystem in the state. It is the first non-academic business incubator in the country. The Technopark TBI spreads over 20,000 sq ft is situated in Technopark, the biggest IT Park in the country. Since inception in the year 2006, more than 132 companies have successfully graduated from Technopark TBI and TTBI currently hosts 46 companies physically and 22 companies virtually. Government of Kerala through TTBI has been actively supporting the student entrepreneur community by creating a startup ecosystem like nowhere else in the country. The Government of Kerala for the first time in India launched the Student Entrepreneurship Policy,wherein the students are offered grace marks and attendance . The Technology Startup policy is announced wherein the startups are created and nurtured through a world class technology ecosystem so as to empower the youth entrepreneurship. Inorder to create the startup ecosystem Government of Kerala has framed Entrepreneurship Development schemes. Technopark TBI being the nodal incubator has been entrusted for the implementation of all the entrepreneurial initiatives of the Government. Providing the Startup Infrastructure In order to provide proper infrastructure support to startups 13.2 acres of land has been given to Technopark TBI for hosting Incubators in multiple domains and also providing all the other support facilities. Presently the zone comprises of the Startup Village, India’s first Telecom incubator in PPP model and the Biotech Incubator which is operated by Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology. The biotech incubator supports 5 companies physically and RGCB has setup a state of the art Lab in 15,000 sqft space.2 Providing support to startups As the numbers of startups are increasing day by day, the infrastructure and technical support required to these startups are confined. Through the Startup Box initiative, Startup Box comprising of Macbook, Iphone, google nexus, Kindles, Arduino starter kit etc. Boxes will be distributed to potentials startups for the Development and testing of their applications. International Exchange Programme is another initiative launched by the Government of Kerala through TTBI to help startups for participating in international conferences and startup events. The programme involves taking student/young entrepreneurs to the most advanced startup destinations, such as the Silicon Valley, USA, for an exchange programme where they interact with startups in that ecosystem.Setting up of Electronics FabLabs With the support of Government of Kerala Technopark TBI is setting up two Electronic Fablabs in Technopark Trivandrum and Technology Innovation Zone, Ernakulam. A Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention which aims at providing stimulus for local entrepreneurship and serves as a platform for learning and innovation. MIT Fab Lab Foundation for establishing the labs and is expected to be ready by April, 2015. Pre-incubation activities in colleges Most of the startup in Kerala are from College campuses. Even though they are coming up with creative ideas they are facing problems when they get into the business part. Inorder to lay foundation to these students in the ideation itself, Preincubation activities are necessary. This is provided to various colleges in Kerala through the Startup Boot Camp initiative by the Government of Kerala. Startup Bootcamp is a programme aimed at direct involvement of the student community in the creation of a sustainable 3 entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state. Each college will be supported through a funding mechanism by the Government through Technopark TBI. The mentorship and the program design will be given by the mentor TBI. The Bootcamp will feature workshops, Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps, Mentoring, Maker events, Hackathons etc thereby exposing the students to the actual entrepreneurial scenario. Beyond this students will have an opportunity to interact with the successful entrepreneurs and to learn from them. Another initiative from GoK for student startups is the Startup Leadership Academy initiative. This initiative aims in setting up leadership academy in the state which will have eminent personalities from around the world, subject matter experts from world class universities and top guns from the different industries around the world come to Kerala and interact with students in the state, giving them insights of their professional life, tips on how to succeed in entrepreneurship and general pep talks. This programme is aimed at increasing the exposure of students from the state and also to give them an insight into the brightest minds in the planet which will expand their imagination and inspire them to achieve and contribute more. Catch them young In order to cater programming and logical skill among young geeks from the school level, government is providing Raspberry Pi’s to school students in the 8th grade. Through the initiative 5000 Raspberry Pi kits to selected students across Kerala. The programme will be implemented by Technopark TBI by associating with IT@School, project by Department of General Education, Government of Kerala to foster the IT education in schools. Technopark TBI is also the implementation agency for the following schemes funded by the central government. 1) Technopark TePP Outreach cum Cluster Innovation Centre (TOCIC) TOCIC is the centre for implementing the scheme, PRISM (Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Startups and MSME) supported by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt of India that aims to support individuals, institutions and MSMEs to develop the state of the art new technology solutions. 2) Technopark MSME Business Incubator Technopark TBI has been recognized as The Technopark MSME Business Incubator for the implementation of the Scheme “Support for Entrepreneurial and Management and Development of SMEs through Incubators”, by the Ministry of MSME, Govt of India. The scheme provides early stage funding for nurturing innovative business ideas which could be commercialized as a Micro/Small enterprise. Level of funding available under the scheme is about Rs 66.28 lakh for 10 business idea @ Rs 6.25 lakh per idea. Since 2002, more than 205 startups companies have been incubated in T-TBI (till 2006 it was a facility under technopark)and 3,9Cr worth seed fund has been disbursed. More than 35 innovations across Kerala have been supported through the Technopreneur Promotion Programme of DSIR by channelizing funds amounting to 3.15 Crs. The Board of Governors of Technopark TBI has the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala as the Chairman and Minister for Industries and IT as the Vice Chairman. and includes Industry names like Krish Gopalakrishnan former CEO Infosys, Jeby Cherian IBM, Anil Menon Cisco.
