The itch to do something more. When an idea strikes, it’s very difficult to ignore it. We didn’t go looking for an idea. It came to us, and we simply acted upon it! Of course, that included pouring our heart, soul and sleepless nights into it.
Tell us about your Business
Footsy is India’s only online brand for socks and related products. It’s young and playful. We started with the idea of banishing the boring grey, brown and black socks. We want to elevate socks from its mundane undergarment status, to a must-have fashion accessory that you can flaunt. We currently have a collection of vibrant socks for men, women and kids, as well as legwarmers, legwear, shoes and accessories.
What is a Day in a life of you like?
Everyday is different. Both of us have our regular day jobs, so time management is quite critical. It’s a mix of meetings, emails, calls, and a healthy dose of panic attacks! You’ve got to keep the adrenalin flowing!
One particular skill you got right and gave you best results…
Well, in this case, I think we got the core brand idea right. Since we’re working with something that’s fairly original and unique, I’d say that’s our USP.
What have been your biggest challenges in running your business so far?
We’re a small team, so we really push our multi-tasking skills to the edge. I think keeping the engine running at full steam, at all times, needs some work.
How did you overcome these challenges?
We keep working at them.
What have you found the most effective way to get new clients?
Happy clients will always spread the word about you. Do what you’re good at, and the rest will follow. Oh, and social media, of course!
What advice do you give to other business owners?
KISS – keep it simple, stupid!
How did you keep motivated through difficult times?
We always keep our eyes on the silver lining! There’s no force in the world that can stop you, if you’re determined to march ahead.

What’s your favorite quote?
Well, it changes every other day! This is the flavour of the day:
“In any kind of adventuring party, you need a warrior, a wizard, a priest, and a thief. The thief is for the delicate seeking, the priest is for when you need the power of the gods, the wizard for multitasking and the warrior for heavy lifting. And all of those people work together. Companies are the same – you need to build a creative system that supports a range of players.”

Always allow room for flexibility. Your ideas will change, and your dreams will evolve. Let them. Go with the flow.
