Planetsuperheroes.com was started by Sumit Shah and Karan Rai as a start up, to cater to the large superhero fan segment in India. Being superhero fans themselves and realizing that there was no dedicated retailer or site that reached out to the Indian pop culture fan base, they decided to set up Planetsuperheroes.com as a one stop shop for comics and superhero fans. Both Sumit and Karan are also multifaceted entrepreneurs who believe there is a huge potential for fan based businesses in India.

Sumit Shah is a multifaceted entrepreneur who founded Planetsuperheroes.com to cater to the untapped superhero fan segment in India. Planetsuperheroes.com is a startup venture that Sumit runs as part of his Coffee Shop Designs LLP which serves as the parent company to his numerous other upcoming initiatives. Apart from heading Planetsuperheroes.com Sumit also serves as Director at Krysh Retail Private Limited which operates the largest chain of Lee, Wrangler and Vans stores in Maharashtra and western parts of India and along with the two retail companies Sumit also runs his family business -Shambhulal A. Shah & Co., which was established in 1924 and is now one of the biggest paper and board distribution companies in India. Sumit completed his bachelor’s in software engineering from Champlain College and received his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Karan Rai – Co-founder and Partner, Planetsuperheroes.com

Karan Rai co-founded Planetsuperheroes.com and is the founder and CEO of Red Panda Innovation Labs, a technology product incubator. Karan has years of experience in the venture capital, software services and e-commerce industries and is passionate about building practical products enabled by technology. Prior to his entrepreneurial career Karan worked with global firms like Societe Generale, Gryphon Holdings and Oxford Capital Partners. He completed his Bachelors in Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications before receiving his MBA in Finance from Oxford University’s Said Business School.
